DAYTIME MOON
May 2026, Unnamed Press
Whales are dying. Women are missing. And Isa is adrift. She’s struggling to make ends meet in the hustle of New York City where she no longer fits in.
When Dane, the man who raised her, becomes terminally ill, Isa returns to the California desert she ran away from as a teen. There, she's swept up in her former life—late-night drag races with her brother Cole, tacos and beers with the locals, and haunting reminders of the mother she never got to meet.
Upon Dane's death, Isa is gifted a letter that sets her and Cole on a journey up and down the California coast in search of the family they never knew they had, while the memories of those they find challenges everything they thought they knew.
DAYTIME MOON is a story about hidden stories and a reflection of how those who are gone remain in the memories of others. Steeped in metaphor and inspired by ecofeminism, the novel explores our human connection to the ailing environment and draws parallels to the need to heal ourselves to heal the earth.
